DNA tests on Alfie Patten, the 13-year-old boy who was alleged to have become a father when he was just 12, show that he not the baby girl’s actual dad.

The 300-pound test was conducted on him after half a dozen boys claimed to have slept with schoolgirl pal Chantelle Stedman, 15.


Although Alfie was convinced he was the dad after a single night of unprotected sex with Chantelle, the DNA test proved the 4ft-tall pupil was not the father of her seven-week-old tot Maisie Roxanne.


According to The Mirror, Chantelle had told her half-sister Jodie O’Neill, 17, that her daughter’s father could have been one of the boys she slept with at her parents’ home in Eastbourne, East Sussex.


The paper further reveals that the teen girl also said that her mother Penny had ordered her to keep saying that she has been a virgin when she slept with Alfie.

WASHINGTON – One of the victims of the Buffalo commuter plane crash, Beverly Eckert, was a Sept. 11 widow who put her never-ending grief to good use to make the country safer.

President Barack Obama, speaking in the White House's East Room, said Eckert "was an inspiration to me and to so many others, and I pray that her family finds peace and comfort in the hard days ahead."

A week before her death, Eckert met with Obama at the White House as part of a group of 9/11 families and relatives of those killed in the bombing of the USS Cole, discussing how the new administration would handle terror suspects.

Eckert was flying to Buffalo Thursday night to celebrate what would have been her husband Sean Rooney's 58th birthday.

When he died in the World Trade Center, she became one of the most visible, tearful faces in the aftermath of the terror attacks.

Carol Ashley, whose daughter died at the World Trade Center, said the grim details of Eckert's death are particularly painful to Eckert's friends among 9/11 families.

"The fact that it was a plane crash, it was fire, it was reminiscent of 9/11 that way, that's just very difficult," said Ashley, a retired schoolteacher from Long Island.

She carried that grief to Congress as she tried to make the government do a better job protecting its citizens from terrorism.

Her husband worked at Aon Corp., a risk management firm, at the 98th floor of the south tower.

Eckert would cry when she told the story about how her husband — who was her high school sweetheart — called her on the morning of the attacks, and told her he loved her just before there was a loud explosion and nothing more.

She became part of a small group of Sept. 11 widows, mothers, and children who became amateur lobbyists, ultimately forcing lawmakers in 2004 to pass sweeping reforms of the U.S. intelligence apparatus.

They spent months walking the halls of Congress. All of the women were grieving, but Eckert seemed unable or uninterested in holding back her tears.

When it was over and they'd won passage of the intelligence reform law, Eckert vowed to quit her high-profile role "cold turkey." All she wanted, she said, was to go home, buy groceries, and return to something like a regular life.

"I did all of this for Sean's memory, I did it for him," she said, crying again. "There is a euphoria in knowing that we reached the top of the hill. ... I just wanted Sean to come home from work. Maybe now, someone else's Sean will get to come home."

Eckert was flying to her hometown Thursday night when the plane crashed on approach to the Buffalo airport.

After the 2001 attacks, she co-chaired the 9/11 Family Steering Committee, a group of activists devoted to exposing government failures that led up to the 2001 attacks, and fixing them.

She pushed for a 9/11 Commission. She pushed the Bush administration to provide more information to the commission. And when the commission's work was over, she pushed Congress to adopt their recommendations.

For Eckert, the public role was not easy.

One night after a long day at Congress, she found herself in the New York City train station, without a connecting train to her home in Stamford, Connecticut.

"We slept in the train station. We had no place else to go. That's when you look at yourself and say, 'What am I doing? How can we possibly get this done?'."

As Congress hemmed and hawed, Eckert vowed to sleep there, too, if it would get the law passed.

After the law passed, Eckert turned her energies to Habitat for Humanity, helping build homes for low-income families.

"I'm in shock, I just can't believe it," said Carie Lemack, whose mother died Sept. 11 on one of the hijacked planes. "Beverly had a can-do attitude about everything, and she never gave up."

My father confessed his actions on the same day that I disclosed them to my mother. And on that frightful day of admission, I watched my mother, looking for a sign, any sign that she cared about me.

The memory of my father whispering in my ear during the wee hours of the night about the beauty of my body has played over and over in my head for many years. And as if that has not been incapacitating enough by itself, having to comprehend the fact that more often than not, he had just gotten out of the bed he shared with my mother to find his way to my bedroom has just added to the realization of the painful situation."

Diddy Ditches DJ Clue Party Over Gun Search Hip-Hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly skipped out on a birthday party for friend DJ Clue after learning that the club was searching for weapons.

According to the New York Post, Puff was on his way to club M2 in New York City on Monday night (Feb. 2) for the event, which he was supposed to co-host with Laker Kobe Bryant, when he saw undercover officers frisking guests.

The party, which went down after Bryant’s record-breaking performance against the Knicks, was going to be packed with basketball players and the NYPD wanted to safeguard the athletes. “Everyone wanted to make sure that the dozens of NBA stars in attendance, including Lamar Odom, Vince Carter and Pau Gasol, would be safe,” an insider told the Post.

Apparently Diddy, who arrived with six others, tried to avoid getting searched. A witness at the scene said that the Bad Boy entrepreneur “went nuts” when they asked to frisk him and his entourage. “’Why are you disrespecting me like this,” he allegedly said. “’Why are you doing this to me?’”
Diddy reportedly decided to leave after learning there was no way he would be able to enter the club without being checked. As of press time his rep had no comment.

Today, we simply call them Legos and the company is the world's sixth-largest toymaker by sales. The company's success led us to peg Kristiansen's net worth at $6.5 billion in March.

Another unfamiliar name who made billions with popular products: Jorge Paulo Lemann. The former competitive tennis player is now a major shareholder in the world's largest brewer, InBev.

In 1989, Lemann was a successful Brazilian investment banker when he and some banking partners bought a stake in his country's largest brewery. A string of mergers followed and now that brewery is part of beer-making behemoth Anheuser-Busch InBev.

Actors, baseball legends on Madoff client list NEW YORK (AP) -- Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax. Actor Kevin Bacon. World Trade Center developer Larry Silverstein. All three have at least one thing in common: Their names appear on a list of several thousand clients who lost money investing with Bernard Madoff. The list has been made public in a court filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan.
The list emerged late Wednesday, shortly after a whistleblower in the case, Harry Markopolos, told House lawmakers at a hearing that he had discovered that additional funds had relayed investments to Madoff in Europe -- and that the managers of these "feeder" funds may have ignored signs of the massive fraud scheme.

He plans to present his findings to the Securities and Exchange Commission's inspector general Thursday. If proven, they would substantiate the assertions of many analysts that the alleged fraud was far too large for Madoff to have conducted alone.

House lawmakers on Wednesday also sparred with SEC officials, accusing them of impeding their probe into how the agency failed to uncover the alleged fraud.

Prosecutors say Madoff admits he lost more than $50 billion belonging to investors. Defense lawyers say he has cooperated with authorities to help identify assets.

The list of client names, including those of Madoff's relatives, numerous celebrities, dead people and charitable institutions, are listed on a 162-page document. Each page carries 84 single-spaced lines. Some customers are listed multiple times, presumably because they had multiple accounts.

The customers include prominent people and institutions that already had been publicly revealed, such as the Wilpon family, owner of the New York Mets.

Also listed were more than two dozen accounts involving the Mets and companies affiliated with their owners were listed, many with addresses at Shea Stadium.

The amount each person or institution invested with Madoff isn't listed.

One client is Ira Sorkin, the attorney who's defending Madoff against charges he perpetrated the biggest financial fraud in history. Others include Madoff's wife, sons, brother and other relatives.

The list was compiled by AlixPartners LLP, a Dallas company hired as claims agent by the trustee overseeing the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.

Madoff hasn't been indicted. He's being held under house arrest at his multimillion-dollar penthouse.

By Chris Richburg The spirit of the upcoming Grammy Awards ceremony will be alive and well this weekend as Cash Money Records honors Lil Wayne with its first annual Pre-Grammy party.

The event, which will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday (February 7) at the Montage Beverly Hills' Marquesa Ballroom, will celebrate the rap star’s eight Grammy nominations for his latest album, Tha Carter III.

Since its number one debut on the Billboard charts last June with more than one million copies sold, the triple platinum release emerged as the best-selling album of 2008.

Tha Carter III received a nomination for album of the year and best rap album as well as nods for the singles "Lollipop" featuring Static Major (Best Rap Song), "Got Money" featuring T-Pain (Best Rap/Sung Collaboration), "A Milli" (Best Solo Rap Performance) and "Mr. Carter" featuring Jay-Z (Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group).

Lil Wayne's inclusion in T.I.'s "Swagga Like Us" garnered additional recognition for the New Orleans MC with nominations for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group and Best Rap Song.

The Grammy recognition marks the latest chapter in a string of accomplishments for Lil Wayne.

The rapper recently finished his I Am Music Tour alongside T-Pain, Keyshia Cole, Gym Class Heroes and Keri Hilson. Lil’ Wayne’s achievements come amidst the 10th anniversary of Cash Money’s deal with Universal Music Group.

The alliance between the two labels during its first decade were marked with a string of hit albums from Juvenile, B.G., Turk, Big Tymers, Mannie Fresh, Hot Boys and Bryan Williams, who released music under his musical aliases Baby/Birdman.

Cash Money is currently enjoying the success of its latest artist, Kevin Rudolf.

The rocker’s Lil Wayne assisted first single, “Let It Rock,” was the number one most added song at Top 40, iTunes and ringtone smash.

Rap fans can expect a busy year for Cash Money as the label prepares to release Lil Wayne’s Rebirth on April 7.

The rock album, which features the single “Prom Queen, will be the follow-up to Tha Carter III.

In addition to Lil Wayne, Cash Money will release a new album from Baby this year.

The 51st annual Grammy Awards will air at 8 p.m. ET/PT Sunday (Feb. 8) on CBS from Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Michael Irvin recognized by would-be thiefs, avoids carjacking By Chris Chase

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin says he recently avoided a carjacking because his would-be robbers recognized him.

Michael Irvin said he was driving to the gym when robbers pulled alongside him and flashed a gun at him along Marsh Lane near the Bush turnpike at about 9 p.m.

Irvin, who was driving a new, white Range Rover, said a truck followed him to a stoplight.

"I was looking in my rearview, and I saw this black truck flying up behind me," he said.

The passenger rolled down his window and pointed a gun at him. Irvin said his work on the field may have saved his life -- because the would-be carjacker recognized him.

"He put it away, because he recognized me. He said, 'Hey, Mike Irvin, what's up? Mike Irving, man, we are big Cowboy fans,'" Irvin said.

So I guess Pacman Jones is back in Dallas?

While it's great news that Michael Irvin is safe and with Range Rover, I have to say, something about this story sounds a little off. Clearly Michael Irvin is a paragon of virtue and would never feel the need to embellish anything. But a few of this story's details (carjackers that pull up to stop lights and attempt to carjack from the passenger seat of another vehicle, armed men stopping "for a few minutes" to talk to would-be robbery targets at a stop light at 9 p.m.) seem a little too neat and tidy.

And it's a good thing it wasn't T.O. that was at the stop light. Who knows what would have happened if the jackers had been fans of Cris Carter.

West Coast rapper Kurupt is gearing up for what he hopes to be an exceptional New Year.
In addition to three new projects slated for release in 2009, the Dogg Pound co-founder has created a new imprint to be distributed through Fontana/Universal, he told AllHipHop.com exclusively.
The newly founded Penagon Entertainment will be operated jointly by Kurupt and his Atlanta-based management firm Lakeshow Management.
The distribution agreement with Fontana/Universal will allow the former Death Row Records VP to retain all creative control over his music and those signed to the label.
It also provides for the continued expansion of the label's roster, while growing his resume as a business man.
Kurupt is also adding to his lengthy catalog of collaborations, with the release of a new album with DJ Quik.
The new LP, entitled Blaqout, will be released via Quik's Mad Science Records, which is also distributed by Fontana/Universal.
The idea for the project came about while the two worked together on Snoop Dogg's album, Ego Trippin'.
During their many discussions about music, Kurupt said they came to the conclusion that they should create an album together.
"Me and Quik are like night and day," Kurupt said. "You can’t have one without the other - the perfect combination."
While putting the finishing touches on Blaqout, Kurupt is also preparing for the February release of his next solo LP, Street Lights, which will be the first project on Penagon/Fontana/Universal.
The album heavily features production by West Coast producer Terrance Martin, known for his work on Snoop's last album.
Also in the pipeline is 100 Wayz, the latest offering by Tha Dogg Pound, which is the first official album from the group since 2005's Dogg Food.
In past interviews, the group has said that their intermittent releases should be considered no more than official mixtapes.
In preparation for the new release, Daz and Kurupt recently partnered with DJ Drama for Tha Dogg Pound Gangsta Grill titled Full Circle. The duo is also working on a collaborative project with producer Pete Rock.
